We supply Ventair ceiling fans to homeowners, builders and electricians fitting out everything from a single kids' room to a full new build. The range is matched to how a room is used, not just how it looks: quiet DC motors for bedrooms, bigger sweeps for living areas, and covered-outdoor ratings for patios. Filter by sweep size, motor type, light option and finish to narrow it down, or jump straight to Ventair ceiling fan accessories for extension rods and remotes.

Why Ventair ceiling fans make sense for Australian homes

A ceiling fan is still one of the cheapest ways to take the edge off a Melbourne summer without running the air con all night. Ventair's DC and EC models draw a fraction of the power of a standard AC fan (the Spyda EC and Glacier DC are rated at up to 75% less), and they run quietly enough on low speed that people forget they're on. That's why most of the bedroom fans we sell now are DC.

The range also covers the practical stuff people don't think about until install day. Most models are rated for indoor and covered outdoor use, suit raked ceilings up to 18°, and come with a wall controller or remote in the box. If you want a fan that disappears into the ceiling, the white and clear-blade Stanza models do that. If you want it to be the feature, the Spyda in Teak, Walnut and Bamboo looks a lot like real timber from the floor.

What we'd check before you buy

Your ceiling height. Australian standards require at least 2.1m between the floor and the lowest point of the blades. On a standard 2.4m ceiling, that leaves very little room, so we'd measure before choosing a model with a light kit underneath. On higher or raked ceilings, you'll likely want an extension rod: Ventair's are sold separately in 600mm and 900mm lengths, and they're model-specific, so match the rod to your fan.

Whether you want winter mode. Customers often assume every fan reverses. They don't. The Stanza AC models don't have a reverse function, while the Stanza DC (via the optional remote), Glacier DC and Spyda EC do. If you want to push warm air down in winter, check this first.

The light you're getting. "With light" means two different things in this range. LED models have an integrated 20W panel. Attachable lamp models have two B22 holders and globes aren't included. We see people miss this regularly and end up with a fan they can't turn the light on.

How you'll control it. Most Stanza, Spyda AC, Spyda DC and Spinika II models ship with a wall controller, which makes them an easy swap for an old fan on the same switch. Remotes are an optional extra on these ranges, so if you're replacing a light fitting with no wall switch nearby, a remote-included model like the Glacier DC or Spyda EC saves a second purchase.

Blade clearance in the room. In smaller bedrooms, check the sweep against wardrobe doors, bunk beds and pendant lights. A 1400mm fan in a 3m x 3m room will clear the walls but can feel crowded, and a 1200mm on a lower speed often does the same job more quietly.

Ventair ceiling fan prices at Buildmat

Ventair ceiling fans here start at around $170 for a 1200mm Stanza DC with wall control. Most 900mm to 1250mm fans, including the Glacier DC and the smaller Spyda DC models, sit between around $230 and $400. Larger 1400mm fans and anything with an integrated LED light generally land between around $330 and $500. At the top end, the WiFi-enabled Spyda EC and the timber-look 1570mm Spyda AC with LED light run up to around $700. Factor in a licensed electrician for installation, which is required on every ceiling-mounted model.

Finish the room

Shop Ventair by range and finish

Ventair is our dedicated ceiling fan brand, and this collection covers its Spyda, Stanza, Glacier and Tilt360 lines. Black and white suit most homes, and you can filter straight to matte black Ventair fans or white Ventair fans. In the showroom, clients who've only seen the timber-look Spyda finishes online are usually surprised by how convincing the grain is up close, and Walnut in particular tends to win over people who came in set on matte black. For other ranges, see the Spinika II, Alaska DC and Sovereign DC collections, or compare across brands in our full ceiling fans range.

FAQS

Yes, most Ventair ceiling fans are rated for indoor and covered outdoor use, including the Stanza, Spyda and Glacier ranges. That means patios and alfresco areas with a roof overhead, not fully exposed spaces. Check the individual product spec before ordering.
DC fans use far less power. Ventair's DC and EC motors are rated at up to 75% less energy than standard AC fans, run more quietly on low speeds and usually offer more speed settings. AC fans cost less upfront and suit simple wall-switch setups.
Most bedrooms suit a 1200mm to 1250mm fan. Smaller bedrooms, nurseries and studies are better served by a 900mm fan, while large master suites can step up to 1400mm.
Yes, a licensed electrician is required. Every ceiling-mounted Ventair fan in this range is specified for installation by a qualified electrician, and blades must sit at least 2.1m above the floor.
